Listing policy

Booru Atlas lists public booru-style galleries across different software and communities. Every new listing and suggested edit is reviewed by a person.

What belongs here

Working or historically significant booru galleries with a clear identity. Descriptions should explain the community and its subject matter in original, factual language.

Content ratings

SFW listings are visible by default. Adult, mixed-content, and unrated sites require the “Show adult / unrated” switch. Ratings describe a site as reviewed, and may need correction as its content changes.

What we exclude

Sites hosting illegal content, malicious or deceptive destinations, spam, and unrelated services are excluded. Listings can be removed after review. A rejection record may be retained to prevent repeated submissions.

Availability and historical records

Unreachable sites remain in the directory with a status label. A temporary error does not mean a site has permanently closed. Access challenges and robots exclusions are recorded as unknown.

Corrections and reports

Use Suggest a correction for inaccurate details, or Report a listing for policy concerns. Do not include sensitive personal information.

Submission privacy

Listing favicons load from DuckDuckGo. Your browser sends DuckDuckGo the listing’s hostname and your network address, without a referring page URL. Sites on the same hostname share an icon. Failed icon requests use a letter placeholder.

No contributor account or email is required. We temporarily retain salted, hourly hashes of network addresses to limit spam. Submissions and review history are retained to maintain the directory; raw network addresses are not stored in its database. Cloudflare processes requests and human verification.
